AAA: Hit-and-Run Deaths at an All Time High
From the AAA: "More than one hit-and-run crash occurs every minute on U.S. roads, according to new research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. These resulted in 2,049 deaths in 2016 – the highest number on record and a 60 percent increase since 2009. With the number of hit-and-run crashes on the rise, AAA is calling for drivers to be alert on the road in order to avoid a deadly crash and always remain on the scene if a crash occurs. From KPTV Fox 12: "HAPPY VALLEY, OR (KPTV) -Oregon State Police is investigating a deadly crash on Highway 212 near Happy Valley Sunday evening.Troopers and fire were dispatched around 5 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. According to OSP, a silver Kia Rio, operated by Uriy Dudko, from West Plains MO, was stalled in the fast lane of Highway 212 heading eastbound."
