French advertising agency La Chose Group released a new commercial they created for the DSCR (France's road safety agency the Road Circulation Security Delegation). The ad, called Shockwave, is a terrifying reminder that behind every collision caused by inattentive, distracted, or unsafe drivers, is a trail of shattered dreams and hearts as the victims' loved ones cope with the catastrophic repercussions.
The ad ends "behind the victims of a car crash are victims of life. Road safety - all affected - all concerned - all responsible"
Director Bruno Aveillan told Ad Week "Road accidents shatter lives and destinies well beyond the accident itself. That's the 'shockwave' effect, which can be so unjust and devastating, and the work's central theme...Campaigns with alarming and shocking images have worked very well in the past, but today that's not enough. Our idea was to show that behind every crash victim there are victims in life. ... Because it's symbolic of the accident that could happen to any of us... It's a 'real' story that we can relate to."
